Daniëlle Arets – Elfen in plaats van trollen, Vechten tegen desinformatie
De toename en het effect van nepnieuws en desinformatie heeft sinds de Amerikaanse presidentsverkiezingen in 2016 veel belangstelling gewekt. Wereldwijd wordt er sindsdien geëxperimenteerd met innovatieve vormen van feitencontrole en verificatie. Maar helaas is nepnieuws nog steeds in opkomst. De Nederlandse regering is bang dat het ook gevolgen zal hebben op bijvoorbeeld de Europese verkiezingen. Wat kunnen we doen om dit te voorkomen?

Robots zijn steeds meer aanwezig in het dagelijks leven en op het werk. In industriële omgevingen zijn robots bijna naaste collega’s. Hoe kunnen wij met robots als teamgenoot werken? Sinds de introductie van Google Home in Nederland in vorig jaar, is voice in opkomst. Steeds meer mensen gebruiken het om hun lichten te bedienen, muziek af te spelen of leuke weetjes op te halen. Maar er zijn andere, vreemdere dingen die je met voice kunt doen….

Rens van der Vorst – Waarom smartphones het nieuwe roken zijn
Tegenwoordig begrijpen we dat mensen die te veel roken het slachtoffer zijn van een sluwe tabaksindustrie. Maar zijn mensen die hun smartphone te veel gebruiken ook slachtoffers? En betekent dit dat er lessen te leren zijn uit de geschiedenis van het roken? Rens vindt van wel en geeft een overtuigende argumenten.

The increase and impact of disinformation has garnered a lot of interest since the U.S. presidential election in 2016. Experiments have been conducted worldwide since then with innovative forms of fact checking and verification. But unfortunately fake news is still on the rise. The Dutch government is afraid that it will also have consequences for, for example, the European elections. What can we do to prevent this?
