Met ‘Chips in Leds’ leggen we leds van 1,8 mm onder de microscoop en ontdekken de kleine chips die daarin kunnen zitten. Deze chips meten slechts 0,3 millimeter, en besturen de drie kleuren van de Blink-led. Je ontdekt hoe deze chips verbonden zijn met de componenten binnen de ‘package’ en met de rest van onze wereld.
Bij de Etching in Schools workshop maak je zelf een mini-printplaatje. Met drie transistors en drie leds bouw je een apparaat waarmee je zelf de drie leds bedient.

With ‘Chips in LEDs’, we examine 1.8 mm LEDs under a microscope and discover the tiny chips they may contain. These chips are just 0.3 millimetres in size and control the three colours of the Blink LED. You’ll discover how these chips are connected to the components inside the package and how they link to the wider world around us.
During the Etching in Schools workshop, you’ll make your own mini printed circuit board. Using three transistors and three LEDs, you’ll build a device that allows you to control each of the three LEDs yourself.
